Cutler-Plotkin Jewish Heritage Center Expansion- Sutz Wing (Project)

Phoenix, AZ​

 

A new 13,000 square foot, 3-level expansion wing to the Temple Beth Israel was planned in part to house the Holocaust-related art of Robert Sutz. The project is in the fundraising stages and the scope has been expanded to include a major permanent Holocaust exhibit. 

Commemorative Air Force Museum CAP Assessment

Mesa, AZ

 

Motley provided the architectural assessment for the Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) study of a museum largely housed in aircraft hangars.  Major issues included reconciling the interpretive use of the building with aircraft-facility-specific building code requirements.

Pinal County Historical Museum CAP Assessment

Florence, AZ​

 

Motley provided the architectural assessment for the Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) study for a small town historical museum. CAP assessments such as this focus on the interaction of  the museum facilities with the collections they contain, with an eye toward conserving both. This museum contains a wide variety of materials and faces many challenges common to small museums.

Pueblo Grande Museum CAP Assessment

Phoenix, AZ​

 

Motley provided the architectural assessment for the Collections Assessment for Preservation (CAP) study for a city-owned archaeological museum. Multiple facilities were assessed, including an historic adobe maintenance building and an archival storage building in addition to the main museum.

Phoenix Trolley Museum

Phoenix, AZ​

 

Motley is working with this small streetcar museum to develop new facilities after losing its lease at another site. The planned facilities wil include a 7,000 square foot Trolley Barn as an addition to an existing historic home to be rehabilitated as the museum office.
